Abraham was born in Albany (NY) in 1791. He owned and operated a store on Mackinac Island (Mich.) where he served as Collector of Customs for the Great Lakes, ca. 1831-1848. He was married and had at least seven children. He died on Dec. 21, 1851 at age 60. His son, George T. was probably born in Albany (NY) in 1824. Like his father he was a merchant. Trelfa (1886-1929) was a historian from Alpena (Mich.). Several of his and his brother Tom's collections about early Michigan history are in the Clarke Historical Library.
